What guidelines do you follow Calories/Protein/Carbs/Water ?

So glad to know 48oz was a struggle for successful people too!

High Weight 376, about a year before program. I gave up diet pop(and all pop), dropped 30 pounds without trying, and kept it off. Now convinced Carbonated Beverages. Are. Evil.

i'm on week 6 and it fluid is a big issue for me too.  I have never been a natural water or liquid drinker.  I just never have drank much.  So right before surgery I was drinking as much as 60-80 oz whi*****luded the 2 a day shakes.  I felt like all I did was stand in front of the water cooler.  I find in the morning I drink my coffee with soy milk in it which is 12-16oz and that all I want before snack time or lunch.  However then I have to wait till after lunch which puts me in some crazy hurry up and drink like a camel for the afternoon.  Because once home... again I just don't drink a lot.  I find myself not wanting to fill up on water before dinner and then I wait for a time period after dinner and it's almost bed time it feels like.  

Now if I'm real with myself I have no idea why drinking is such a big deal to me.  It doesn't take a long time, and really it doesn't fill me up either.  Cause even if I drink 8-16oz within 30mins I'm not full anymore, it takes very little time for the water to get out of my stomach.  So there is no actual reason I can't drink, it's just not a habit yet.

I have the same problem, I have never get thirsty. One cup of coffee and I am good till lunch a few sips and then nothing till dinner. It has been a big struggle for me to drink more since my surgery 4/25/16. I know I am not getting near enough but I have managed to get in a lot more.

There are low carb tortillas and pita breads that have 5 or 6 grams of carbs per serving.  I don't eat them often, but they are a possibility. 

I make mashed cauliflower that is a good substitute for mashed potatoes.

Now that I'm in maintenance, I'll add winter squashes, sweet potatoes and humus and crackers, but I didn't do this while I was in weight loss mode.

In puree stage and soft foods stage:

maximum 800 calories

minimum 75 grams protein

max 60 carbs

min 60 oz liquids per day, no specific requirement for water though

additionally: I try to follow the USDA recommendation to get 14 grams of fiber per 1000 calories consumed.

Currently when I drop into weight loss mode (I am almost 3 years out) I stay below 1200 calories and get a minimum of 90 grams of protein per day. I don't limit my carbs by number, but I do completely eliminate grains, starchy veggies, beans, sweets (of course) and tropical fruits from my diet and that naturally keeps my carbs more on the low side.

I haven't seen anyone post their fat intakes.  What are they around?

I personally don't worry about fat except to make sure I (1) avoid trans fats and (2) have at least one meal a day with a minimum of 10 grams of fat in it. Fat is needed to properly absorb a lot of vitamins so I make sure I take my multi-vitamin with my highest fat meal of the day.

Thanks for your reply. I am doing the diet know and get my 30 carbs but sometimes, not all, I can be around 50 fat and that's not going off plan. Scared I'm going to flub up everything

IMO as long as your calories, carbs, and protein are on target, you will do great
