I'm now 11 days post op and doing really terrific.  I weighed myself 8 days out and had lost 13 lbs since surgery and 8 inches.  2 week post-op visits are on Wednesday this week.

Thanks for asking.  Take care!

I made the decision on 9/1/2013 and talked to the insurance company right after that.

I saw my PCP on 9/13 and then met the surgeon on 12/2.

Surgery was initially scheduled for 2/13 but the surgeon found an ulcer at my endoscopy, so I had to take Nexium for a month and have a second endoscopy.

Surgery happened on 3/13/2014.

So about 6 months from initial decision until surgery.  About 3 months from initial surgeon appointment to surgery.

Mine was just over 5 months, from the time I first saw the NUT, to the time I walked into the OR.  And I tried to make good use of that time.  My NUT was actually great.  With her guidance, I lost 43 lbs. before my surgery.  It's been a GREAT ride!

Seven months. One month getting the ball rolling; six months keeping the ball rolling (insurance, initial consult w/surgeon, nutrition counseling, etc.).

Mine was about 5 weeks from the first consult. My insurance didn't require any hoops to jump through.

Woah! That is the quickest date I have heard of! So awesome! I don't have a date yet and am biting my nails in anticipation. I CAN be a patient person but I do not have those tendencies haha I was told it is looking like the soonest I could get it would be December :( I am praying I will be told I can have it in November. Would be the best bday gift ever!
