Cooking with unflavoured protein powder

Hey everyone,

I am hoping someone can post how they cool with unflavoured protein powder!   I just tried to make beef broth with some and it went crazy solid and gross looking.   I mixed the cool broth with the protein powder first in a shaker then attempted to heat it up.... Which clearly didn't work for me

Please help!!

I don't do it but my understanding is- dissolve the powder in a small amount of liquid to make a thin paste. Warm the broth and then pour it over the paste and stir. If the broth is too hot it will lump.

Use a thermometer and make sure the broth is 140 degrees or less or it will lump up. I add protein to hot coffee sometimes(usually chocolate Unjury) My coffee maker brews it at less than 140, so it works out great.

OOOH!  I hope we get more intel. In fit-2fat-2fit some trainer had protein pancakes, protein shakes, protein everything.

Was their a link for his recipes that "didnt taste too bad"-NOPE.

The show REALLY dropped the ball there.

Anxiously lurking!

Egg face has a ton of protein cakes, muffins etc posted on her site. I haven't tried any of them so cannot attest to how they taste, but it would be worth trying.

I heated up my soup first and then added protein powder in. There aren't many that don't curdle though even without too hot of a broth

I've made Eggface's protein doughnuts and they were wonderful!  A perfect bite size!  And the ricotta pancakes taste great and freeze well!

As for adding protein to things.... I add powder to my coffee all the time.  You add a little water to the powder, mix it up and then slowly add the hot liquid, tempering the protein.   Like another poster said, if it's above 140 for the coffee, it will curdle.

I cook with protein powder all the time. It only curdles in hot liquid. When you put it in eggs, baking etc you'd there isn't enough liquid remaining when the food is cooked to know if it curdled or not.

I found that adding a very small amount to hot soup at a time while stirring with a whisk kept out the lumps.
