im starting my 5th week after gastric bypass.  Is there anything that I'm allowed to eat that is crunchy? I just made some chicken salad and would love a cracker with it.

I was going to suggest the same thing (baked cheese).

Or if you don't want to bake your own... Mr. Cheese O's...

I found them at our Sprouts, but you can order them online too.

I was very weary of taking in ANY carbs in my first 9 months. I will now allow myself a cracker with my salad. 1. That is a personal preference, so it may not be for you to go zero carbs.

It helped me keep my momentum and I lost 122 pounds in the first 128 days post RNY. I am holding at 180. That is a drop of 218 pounds. I also stopped drinking any calories/protein after 3 months, again, personal preference.

It is a journey for sure. But WOW what a ride you're in for!!! Honeymoon is the best! You only get one, so maximize your time.

My whole family loves them. We get a huge container at SAMS and everyone partakes in them... they're pretty good with tuna salad too!

I put s few finely chopped pecans in my chx salad - but not until 6 months out.  Crackers were not on my drs list - I did not eat them.  I suggest that you do not touch anything not on your drs list and nothing that is a cracker until you reach you goal weight.  5 weeks out is too soon to start on the 'only one cracker' wagon.  If Chx salad is a trigger food for carbs for you, I would avoid it.

So, go check your drs list for your phase - I do not recall veggies (or nuts) so soon.  I did add tiny pieces of celery to shrimp salad at 3 months.  Do you go to your drs Support Group?  That is a good way to get ideas.

The first weeks are the most difficult. Hang in there.
