RAYS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!   There is SO much to do there, and your family will meet some very cool people.  The cycling community is very welcoming-- especially mountain bikers.

We live in Pittsburgh, but my husband is from Salem, OH.

My best friend grew up in a tough neighborhood. One of their frequent games was "poo stick." It was like a game of "tag," except it involved chasing others around with a stick with . . . well, you get it.

Great exercise for the whole family. No one wants to lose a game of poo stick.

My actual neighborhood is actually very nice -- but that doesn't mean a rousing game of poo on a stick cannot be had!

I hate to be pedantic, but it's just poo stick, not poo on a stick.

My son swims year around. He gets August off. He has high school(just ended),summer league, and then club swimming year around.

I started swimming at another gym while he is swimming. It's not exactly together time but we are in the car together.

Roller skating looks like fun but I would break a hip.

Have you heard of Geocaching?  It's like a worldwide scavenger hunt.  It may not be rigorous exercise but it will get you out and about together.  Don't worry if there isn't something that all three of you can do together.  It's okay to have different interests.  I know a guy who learned belly dancing and LOVED it.

I agree that it's great to have different interests -- but my time is so limited as it is -- I work 70+ hours a week, that I really prefer to find something we can do as a family.  I love the idea of geocaching.  Thanks!
