Guelph Surgeons appt- what happens?

I got a call today from Linda in Guelph.  I have an appt with Dr. Reed on the 17th.

I know that I have to buy my opti that day but what else happens?

Do the? Weigh you? Tell you your surgery date?

How can you pay for your Opti? Debit, credit or cash?

Yahoo!!! Congrats!! They are moving fast!! I do know that they weigh you, I can try to ask for you today if you dont find out how to pay for the Opti and if you get you date for your surgery with the doctor... So excited for you.

Hi, the surgeon will go over the reasons why you have chosen this surgery.  He will also ask some health questions and before the appointment you will be weighed. My surgeon went over the reasons why he felt I should have the surgery and them proceeded to go through the surgical procedure itself.  I ended up with the VSG and he went over both types of surgery ...he may only go over the one surgery if he plans the RNY for you.

Do you know what the general rule of thumb is for how much Opti a person needs before surgery?

I was on Opti for 2 weeks. it is 100.00 a week.

You can pay for OPTI cash debit or credit card.

And you will get your date tomorrow!! Be sure to let us know what date you get.

I am soooooo nervous but very excited!  I hope I don't put on any weight.  I have been so bloated lately it isn't even funny!

are there any invalid  answers to why you want the surgery ? Oh, I want to look like I did on my senior prom kinda thing ?

When I had my appointment I got weighed, went through want was going to happen (RNY) and she felt my tummy... not sure why. 

Mostly I just listened... I did ask about the staples if I was safe to have an MRI and if I would set off metal detectors at the air port (the answer was MRI safe and no I won't set off metal detectors).

She gave me the date and that was about it.

I bought my opti via credit card and set up more appointments for after surgery.

I wish I would have brought my support aka mom to this appointment I think it would have benefited her more (I had already researched RNY to death).  I showed her the sugery video on youtube after the fact... she found it very interesting.
