Any one else missing alcohol this holiday season
I am only 4 months out so I can't have alcohol yet. But it is a big part of my family culture. Not a lot of booze just like afternoon rum and eggnog a wine glass with dinner.
And this year my mom sister and I are doing Christmas just the three of us because of my dad but we are doing a wine tasting (no they are doing a wine tasting I am pining)
and we are doing a chcuterie plate
but I am missing having alcohol with my family. I have no intention of drinking. But just wondering if anyone else is feeling this pang

I suppose you dont miss what you never had. but this year with it being the first year without my dad i would love a little mellow on the hard feelings. i admire your fortitude not to rely on forign substances. good on you

Not at all... for me it could be because im pregnant but alcohol just smells gross to me now... it also wasnt a big component in my life prior to wls either but nope!! No desire. To me, being successful is more important snd i want to ensure i do what i can to get there - no pop, alcohol, etc

Oh im not going to do anything about it but i do miss it. i wanst a big drinker in the year before surgery but this year, with my dad being gone my mum and sister are drinking more and i just miss a glass of wine

I haven't had any since surgery but was thinking a thimble full of wine to do the tasting. just to be included. but i haven't decided. i dont know if i would be risking too much. but i dont think a few thimbles of wine would end the world.
