So just when I was starting to get over the panic attack I was having, the hospital called and said my surgery has moved from tomorrow to Wednesday. And as a consolation prize, I can have a protein drink today then take the bowel prep later tonight. WHOOPDIE F-ING DO!!! I am so pissed at this flake of a hospital & my surgeon who has caused so much drama since the get-go. How do you have a "scheduling error" 15 hours before you operate on someone???? I've forgotten appointments for people in the past, but it's not like I crack open their abdomens for a living. I cannot believe this.... I know it'll pass, and it's only one day so I'd really appreciate everyone reserving the sanctimonious perspective-taking. Right now I need people to be just as pissed for this injustice as my low-blood-sugar-having fat ass is feeling....

I don't blame you for being aggravated--it's like having Christmas delayed for 48 hours!

Maybe it's because of some other emergency that tied up the operating room, or your surgeon has had to be pulled away for a serious problem; whatever it is, the next couple of days will pass and you'll definitely be on your way to the Loser's Bench.

Just breathe in on the count of 3 through your nose and out on the count of 4 through your mouth, and let your thoughts dwell on being able to shop in Victoria's Secret for Christmas!!

well, if all are such flakes do you WANT them to be the ones cracking you open? If you don't trust them with your life, then you might need to find a new team and that's gonna take more than 15 hours.

The hospital and surgery center screwed up both my Upper GI and Ultrasounds. Does that make you feel better?

AND... it least it's only ONE day and not ONE week or month...

Maybe I should turn my phone off so they can't call me. Sorry they did this to you. While patiently waiting for my wls Kaiser coordinator to send in my referral to my surgeon, she decided she needed to go on vacation and forgot to send off my referral. What a b*&ch!
Anyway, we will have the same surgery date. Best of luck to you and sending prayers and speedy recovery time.

OMG! I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow and if they called and changed my date, even a day, I would be irrate! I don't blame you one bit for feeling that way! Horrible :(

I had the same reaction when my surgeon's office called to reschedule me; just as I started to explode the RN hurriedly said "it's going to be two days earlier!!!".

ZOMG! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I would be livid, too!!! It is a big deal to get ready for this surgery and do all the things you need to do so you can be away for however many days you'll be in the hospital -- not to mention others who might have taken time off work or changed their schedules to be with you or visit you!!!

I hope it all works out without problem or further delay.
