Anybody hear of..

Robaxin?  My PCP wants me to take this for my neck and back problems.  I'm pretty sure she knows that I can't take nsaids but I can't find any information on what exactly it is.  Anyone ever use it and what is your experience.  I'm a little skeptical.

We use Robaxin regularly in the ER for treating patients in severe musculoskeletal pain. It's normally given IV or IM (injection into a muscle) and I honestly don't know if there is an oral dose since we don't use in in the ER. It's not an NSAID, which is good. It's actually a nervous system depressant and acts to relax muscles but may also have a sedative effect. Just be sure you use care when you first start taking it. I've had patients say it worked wonders. I really hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the info.  I have a plate and screws put in at c6,c7 and I have this aweful feeling that the c4 and c5 that they told me at the time were not good are starting to act up. Ugh, I hate this crap.  I'm not big on taking drugs but I'll give it a shot.  Maybe it'll help.

I've been on Robaxin before... it's a muscle relaxer.  You should be fine... hope it helps!

Robaxin is the main muscle relaxer in Tylenol back and pain meds I take those and researched them to make sure they were ok..all good :)
