Somedays..
This is a learning process. Learning to take small bites, small servings on plate, chewing slowly, no fluids with meal, etc. are difficult. One issue can be distractions. Until you've "mastered" the post op eating protocol, you may have to do a couple of things. Distractions--TV, talking on the phone, scolding kids, laughing at jokes at dinner, etc.--these can cause you to lose concentration and you'll likely end up chewing too fast. putting too much on your fork, swallowing before food is chewed well, etc.--all resulting in difficulty in swallowing or worse. It takes time. I'd highly recommend support groups, where you'll likely learn some ways to make the transition to post op lifestyle much easier. DAVE
