In my humble opinion it is completely normal. After surgery, we start dropping weight very quickly and our skeletal/nerve/muscle structure doesn't always keep up. Sometimes we lose more from our butt others from their belly, etc. The body is losing so quickly our muscles don't usually have time to compensate for the new "balance" it needs to achieve.
Within the first two weeks after surgery I had some major issues with hip problems (numbness, tingling, pain, etc) but it went away after a week or two (not after the doc made me have ultra sounds for blood clots, though) I have also had some crazy odd body aches and some back pain that I didn't have before.
I hope this helps!

What kind of pain? In the front or on the outside? It might just be a coincidence that you have a hip problem at the same time you had surgery. I had hip issues prior to surgery (bursitis, etc.) so this hasn't gone away yet. You may want to check it out with an ortho doc if it doesn't feel better soon. Remember no NSAIDs for pain.
