Kidney Stones!!

I am almost 3 years post-op.  A few years prior to GBP I passed my first kidney stone (calcium oxalate).  I cant even put into words what kind of pain that was.  I ended up passing a total of 4 kidney stones prior to surgery.  SInce my surgery, my body is producing more and more stones (all calcium oxalate) to a point where I am passing 1 stone every 4-6 weeks.  Ya, thats right... almost once a month!  I know all about getting my water in and the foods that produce those stones.  My question is does anyone else have the same problem??  Ive seen a number of kidney specialist and they are doing their best but thats not good enough.  I was originally put on high dosage of calcium.  That didnt work.  I was then switched to potassium citrate liquid (which has the most horrendous taste) 4x a day.  I was still making these damn stones.  Now i'm on a diruretic 2x a day.  Still producing stones.  ANybody out there have the same problem?  I was warned when I went into surgery that people who have stones prior will often get more frequent re-occurences.  It would be nice to know that im not alone...

You're not taking calcium carbonate, are you?  That is likely to cause stones.  but calcium citrate, the type of calcium we should be taking anyway, actually helps prevent stones.

I did not have any kidney stones until after my RNY  but have had two episodes of them (multiple stones each time, of course) in the 4.5 years since.  At the suggestion of  my PCP rather than the urologist (ironically), I switched multivitamins to limit the amount of calcium carbonate I was taking, and was told to limit carbonation and certain foods (most of which I dont like anyway) in order to minimize the formation of additional stones.
