I have been on vicadin for chronic back pain . The dr at the paincenter is a pain expert and he understands that our bodies absorb differentky and wheni toldd him that thh vicadin worked for closer to 2 rather than 4 hours he ddecided that a timerelease patchmight work better. So far the butrans 10 mcg/ hour seems to beworking pretty well. Do any of you know ifthe time release patch should be an issue for us?

Patches don't work any differently on a RNY body than on a non-op body.  Shouldn't be an issue at all.

I've been on a Fentanyl Patch for years prior to and after RNY. I've not noticed any changes in how it affects me.
