Pepto-Bismol

 Hello Everyone,

I don't post often but I read all post.

I see that we have a lot of friends on here that has been through some things and are very knowledgable. 

I had RNY August of 2010. I have recently noticed when I eat I feel soo full and uncomfortable. Stomach aches really bad. I take a cup of Pepto-Bismol then I feel fine. 

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Demeatra, sorry you're having stomach issues so far out.  Have you asked your surgeon about it?  It seems odd if this is new pain. 

I was told to stay away from pepto....I think it has an NSAID in it.  Maybe you cold try something else that doesn't have NSAIDs?  I was given prevacid to take for three months post op.

Have you tried all the obvious things?  eating slower, eating really small bites, chewing really well, all that stuff?  Does it happen every time you eat or only once in a while?  specific foods make you feel worse than others?

Those are probably the questions your doctor will ask when you call.

Please read the back of the bottle. Pepto has aspirin in it.  RNY patients cannot have NSAID's because of developing ulcers.  I know the doctor's office probably will be closed tomorrow so give them a call Tuesday. Good luck

We were told no pepto. It can cause ulcers. Hope you feel better soon though.

 Wow!   They put me on 6 peptos per day for 6 months.
