hello all I am 2 months away from my 9 year anniversary. I have helped many others around meafter their rny. I have a friend that has constant nasuea. She is 21 days out. She has been to the hospital and all is well, she has no pain. Can someone suggest medicine she can discuss with her dr?

My surgeon sent me home with prochlorperaz.  It worked great and I only had to use it a couple of times.

I was sent home with a prescription for compazine (sp.?) suppositories. They worked well!

Compazine is available either in small pills or suppositories and does not carry the side effects of some other nausea medicines.

Compazine is what I was sent home with. Hope she feels better soon, nausea sucks.

Another thing to consider... is she on any acid reducers like omeprazole, prilosec, etc? I understand many people find these help.
My surgeon prescribes omeprazole for the first 3 months post op for everyone. So far, so good for me.No nausea since the day of surgery.

I have constant nausea and was actually in the hospital twice because of it. Nothing seemed to help. I know wear a sclapolomine patch behind the ear (they last 3 days, and are ususally used for motion sickness), and I take meclazine every 6 hours. The two together are like a miracle for me.

Good luck to your friend. The nausea is the WORST.

I had surgery Aug 2, 2012 and have battled nausea since surgery. I take Phenergen every 8 hrs and use the Scopolamine patch that goes behind the ear and is changed every 3 days. The Phenergen has helped tremendously. I was taking Zofran and it wasn't doing anything for me.
