What do we do about headaches then??

Occasional Tylenol use is fine - it is just not a good drug for anyone (WLS or not) to use on a daily basis.   Chronic pain needs to be better managed and if you are someone who lives with chronic pain, an RNY may NOT be the best WLS to have!

In moderation, Tylenol should be fine unless you have liver problems already.  If you get headaches often, that's something you should talk to your doctor about.  Things like iron deficiency, sinus problems, allergies, etc can cause headaches, and if that's the case, you need to treat the cause, not the symptom.

Well thank God my migraines are gone so far with visits to the Chiropractor. If I knew this I would`ve done this sooner. The Chiro is a lifesaver! I  haven`t had to take anything for the past month, what a relief! I think people should look into alternative ways to control their pain because it works!

Most people I've known with migraines didn't find Tylenol effective for those, anyway.  There are other meds that work well for migraines, like Imitrex, that are safe for us to take.

I worry about this.   We don't use much of anything in the house since I can't have nsaids and my daughter can't have tylenol because of bouts with liver issues in the past.   Ice packs and heating pads are my friends. . . and when the pain is too much to handle I have a small stash of percocet.
