So my pre op appointment is Friday, but my surgery is not until February 6th.

Will the docs count my pre op appt weight as my "starting weight" or will they weigh me the day of surgery?

Were you weighed on surgery day?

Just curious...

my "starting weight" was the very first weigh in. And no I was not weighed on the day of surgery. I kept track of each weigh in though so I would know what was pre op and what was post op.

The first time I ever weighed in is what was counted. I was weighed in at the hospital before surgery.

My surgeon counts from my first weigh in preop. But I was also weighed in on the day of my surgery.

My consult weight was the pre-op weight and yes I was weighed surgery morning but my surgeon does that because we have to sign a form we will not gain weight from our last appt to surgery day.

That was the same rule for me! I was told if I gained over my consult, my surgery could be canceled! My consult was 265, and I had no pre op diet other then to stop eating or drinking by 10 pm night before, but I think the fear of having it canceled caused me to make better food choices as my morning of surgery I was 255... Phew!

They used my very first weigh in at the beginning of the process as my start weight. When they talk about your loss, they usually start there, not on date of surgery.

I weighed in at every appt. prior to surgery. I was not weighed in on surgery day but they may have asked me in pre-op what I weighed.   I was on Optifast for 6 weeks prior to surgery and weighed in every 2 weeks.  If I gained more than 5 lbs at any of those weigh ins they would cancel my surgery.  My last weigh in was Thurs. or Friday the week before surgery.

I was weighed on surgery day.... and was 18 pounds lower than my "consult" weight 1.5 months earlier.

I'm not really sure which weight my doctor is using to track my progress.  I guess I'll ask him on Tuesday when I see him.  I'm hoping they're using the consult weight because I'm 106 pounds lighter than this time last year!!
