Someone Tell Me this will Pass...

I am not quite 3 weeks post op.

Right after surgery I could handle any liquid just fine.

Now, for the past 2 days, if it is not room temperature or warmer I get pain in my back and/or stomach. Even with a teeny sip.

I can't come near a popsicle anymore and they were really helping!!

So also, this means that I could not tolerate my protein shake this morning.  Grrrrr.

I am almost 5 months out and my pouch still prefers warm over cold or room temperature. It took me a few weeks to figure out why it felt like I had been kicked in the pouch every time i took a sip! It should get better, but warm may always feel nicer.
Best wishes on your journey! I have been following you since before your surgery.

It should pass, and it's pretty common.  Try hot protein drinks.  You can put protein powder in sugar free hot chocolate or decaf coffee, etc.

I was 2 months out when that happened to me. It is very very slowly getting where I can semi-tolerate cold or room temperature foods or beverages. It just takes time. I do favor warm drinks.

The only cold drink I can handle is Fruit20 and it has to be almost icy. For the first 5 months all I drank was coffee and very hot teas. My pouch changes all the time and I never know what I will be able to eat or drink.
