Many surgeons (most?) don't give carb levels. They stress making HEALTHY carb choices (non-starchy veggies, some fruit, whole grains, dairy) and avoiding the processed or "white" carbs. If your emphasis is on protein first, and you make good food choices overall, the carb intake won't matter.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
It'd probably depend on your plan, but my NUT broke it down this way: 35-50 g carbs (from veggies, then fruit, then complex carbs) within the first year AFTER 75+g protein consumed each day. They aim for a ketogenic diet in the first year. With less than 1000 cal per day, after the protein, there's not much room (in the pouch or calorically) for much else. After the first year, my NUT has me aiming around 85g carbs, and I routinely get over 100g protein daily, and total calories around 1200.
