Carbonated Drinks
I do occasionally, not very often, just because I don't like them that much. I don't remember when exactly I first tried one, maybe a year out?

My surgeon said absolutely no carbonation before 6 months out. I don;t remember when I first tried any, but it was after that. Now I have a carbonated (calorie free) beverage more days than not (but with recent kidney stone issues, I think I am going to have to be much more selective about how often I have any).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
It was hell for me getting off soda pre-op, and I'm not going to start again even though I could. I have recurring dreams that I'm drinking a diet Coke, and suddenly realize that I'm not supposed to!

i waited probably about 9 months. coke zero is like my crack now (better than the regular coke i drank more calories in a day of than i eat in a day now!). i do like the carbonated waters though too, but usually only drink them in the summer, they're so refreshing! my surgeon only said not to drink them for at least 3 months and then it was as tolerated (i've never had any issues).
