Flying international with vitamins

I leave tomorrow morning for a trip to Italy and Spain. Normally when I travel (driving), I throw all my vitamins in a bag or Tupperware and fish out what I need as I need it. I know with RX meds you need to keep them in the original container. Do I need to bring all the original bottles for my vitamins as well? That'll take up significant souvenir space because I always opt for the for the big jugs o' vitamins to make it as economical as possible.

I have a weekly pill sorter and just put everything in there and pack it in my case!

I travel to my country of origin quite frequently to visit my family.  I usually dump all my vits into a weekly pill organizer or two depending on how long I plan to stay and have not had any problems at all. I am no longer, since surgery, on prescription meds but when I had prescription meds I used the pill box too and took along proof of my scripts with the pharmacy printout with no problems whatsoever.  I never put meds into checked bags I take them with my carry-on bag.  If you have any doubts you can check with your airlines or see the TSA printout.

I flew to Spain last year and they didn't even check the bottles on the way there... but on the way back customs in New York opened my bottle of orange Centrum chewables.  It's a crapshoot...

I haven't flown international with them, but I recently flew domestic and put my meds into a weekly sorter.  I made sure to pack it in my checked baggage vs. my carry on and had no trouble at all.

You should be able to just put them in a pill sorter but bring a list with descriptions, names and dosages in case you are asked.
