Hey guys. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post op. I have been on a stall since week 1 1/2 (10 days post op) it's driving me crazy. I keep thinking I'm done losing (12lbs since surgery, 33 all together) What do you guys think? How long did your stall last? Thanks ahead of time!

Do you REALLY think you are done losing weight?!?  No, I didn't think so.  The early stall usually lasts only a week or two, and many people don't even consider it a stall.  Once you are farther out, though, they generally last longer.  I had one that was nine weeks at about 9 months out.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

At exactly 3 weeks I stalled for 2 weeks .  In fact went up in weight.  I figure it's just our body adjusting to this new life style.  Don't stress it.   You have 18 to 24 months to worry about NOT losing. Just follow  your surgeons instructions , exactly. Then you won't have any problems.

I am at 4 months, and just had a 3 week stall, I was ready to whip the scale across the room, got on this morning and it finally went down, only 1 pound, but that sucker finally moved.

A stall is when you don't lose anything for a month or more.  So they last at least one month

I do not think you are done losing.  I think that would be physically, biologically impossible.

I also think you would do well to stay off the scale for a while.

I think you are being compulsive about weighing yourself.  When you were moving up the scale before you decided to have surgery did you weigh yourself everyday ?  I doubt it !  Like Kelly said stalls last about a month.  As long as you follow your surgeon's suggestions and the people here who have experience and wisdom you cannot help but lose weight.  This hasn't been the first time you've asked this question.  I know I'm being a bit hard on you, but I think it's time to develop some Patience.  Don't worry Samantha the Miracle will happen.  Let it Be !

I know I should stop weighing myself... I know I have asked similar questions, so I'll be sure not to anymore, Sorry. And I just went threw a major surgery, so Yes I do get scared that something went wrong. Sorry, I look here for reassurance. I will be sure not to post anything close to this question again. Thanks

Can I give you some friendly advice?   There is nothing wrong with posting questions - however many times - but the real way to find anything out on here is to READ READ READ!    This particular question is asked and answered on an almost daily basis and guess what?   The answer is always the same!!!

By all means post if you want - it's your prerogative on a publc forum - but if you put "3 week stall" or even just "stall" in the search function you will get a gazillion posts to choose from to find out whether you not losing for a few days means you are done ...

If I were you, and this IS what I did - don't weigh yourself more than once a week - you are clearly driving yourself nuts doing so, so the cure is simple!!!

I am one month out today.  I lost approximately 18 pounds the first two weeks and have not lost a thing since.  I think our body has to adjust to all the changes.  I know it will start again.
