My $ Part for the RNY Surgery - How 'bout You?

You don't want to know what I paid for mine. 

$440 copay for the actual surgery/hospital stay. Couple $25 copays for surgeon consults. $40 copay for psych eval. $36 for nut. I think that's about it. Got the statement from my insurance breaking down the entire surgery - over $42,000. Wowzers. So thankful for my insurance. 
Oh, and $106 for my EGD tomorrow.

Why are you getting an EGD? Is it routine or is there a problem?

Yes, I've been having lots of issues getting my food and drink in and I think I have a stricture. So, they are doing the EGD tomorrow to have a look in there and hopefully fix it if that's what it is. :( 

My part was $1390.00.  I felt that was a bargain!  But not learning that some of you didn't pay anything,  But I am still happy!

Just over $12,000.   Most of it was because the cost of my surgeon  was over the cap for my insurance.  The rest was because I had to pay extra for a private room in the hospital.

My bill came in the mail the other day.  $22,000.00 my portion is $80.00!!  Thank you Harvard Pilgrim!

I didn't have to pay anything.  I'm insured with Kaiser Permanente in Southern California.  They have a FANTASTIC program!

I'm very lucky all I had to pay was $100 to the hospital. The expensive part is constantly buying clothes but it's soo much fun
