At what point were you able to swallow pills?
I swallowed mine immediately after surgery. Consider buying a pill cutter so you can make them smaller (the size of an M&M) if they are horse pills, and then they should go down easily with a drink of water ...
Can't imagine crushing vitamins
Are you taking them with food also? I've always found they go down easier with a soft food - they don't seem to "irritate" so much.

I swallowed pills from the day after surgery, but the calcium pills were so large, it made me feel way to full, so I went to chewables on those pretty quickly. Now, if I am wanting to eat and it is not time to eat, I'll have two calcium pills and that still fills me up and I am closing in on 6 months post-op. :)

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
About 12 hours after my surgery.

One at a time right away. My vitamins are chewable.
