Surgery Tomorrow- STARVING (were you hungry right after surgery)?

The day before surgery, I drank or had sugar free Jell-o frequently. I had some Jell-o RIGHT before midnight and promptly went to bed. I was not hungry at all that day, but I'd been on Optifast for a month, so I don't know if that had any effect on my lack of hunger or not.

After surgery, I was definitely not hungry, and was not as thirsty as I thought I would be.

I have not felt gnawing, I-have-to-eat-right-NOW hunger since surgery, and I'm 6.5 months out.

Good luck tomorrow!

Thanks so much. Keep me in your prayers. BTW, what did you think about the Optifast. I have a supply of it for after surgery, it's part of my doctor's plan. Haven't tasted any of it it yet.

By now, you're probably at the hospital!! Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way.

Optifast tasted fine, definitely not the worst tasting shake out there.

We're making room on the loser's bench for you!

I was not hungry but I was thirsty. They gave me a little sponge on a stick that I could kinda wet my mouth with..But nothing to drink. Later I had to do a water test to see how much I could handle. Once I could drink 3oz without pain I was allowed to have clear liquids.

I a week out from surgery, I still do not feel hungry, sometimes thirsty but that is after I have slept through the night. Hang in there, I know it super sucks and is hard, I felt like my stomach was going to eat itself before I went into surgery. But as I said no hungry pains. As someone else stated. All I wanted to do was sleep. which I do a lot of, even now.
