Warning TMI - 9 Days Post Op

I had surgery on the 18th and have not had a BM yet. Anyone have a similar problem??? I am not in any pain or discomfort, just don't have to go at all. Losing weight (pretty rapidly I think) so I am just not sure where all the waste is going, LOL!

Any suggestions would be welcomed!

We had surgery the same day! :) my dr told me that if I hadn't had a bm by day 3 at home to drink prune juice or milk of magnesia. Of course I have learned reading on here that all drs do things differently. I would consult your surgeon. 

I had surgery on the 17th, I'm only able to go if I take milk  of mag

I find 2 tsps of benefiber - unflavored in a warm cup of herbal tea works wonders. 

You should not go more than 3 days without a movement. You could get into trouble

I had the same problem and surgery was on the 16th. Doctor said milk of Mag and it don't take but 30 mins to work

Call your surgeon and find out what he/she wants your to take. I did not go until 11 days post op thanks to milk of magnesia - the stuff is nasty but works. Now I take 1 TBSP of benefiber every day and go easy of the cheese.  I am 7 weeks post op now 

It took me about that long for me to go as well. Drink some Miralax,t is over the counter and in a day or 2 later you won't have any problems going.
