where did your canned tuna/salmon come from

Hi Guys,

This radiation from Fukishima bothers me.

Worse, in about 1 week and 2 days, I will be on the canned salmon/tuna portion of the diet.

Is there a brand of canned tuna or salmon that is exclusively atlantic caught.

Is there any canned salmon or tuna that lets you know where it originated?

I am not in the mood to cesium mysel***** to protect my ovaries!  ;)

I bought 4 cases of tuna the day after Fukushima.

Your meal plan has a canned salmon/tuna phase?  If you're concerned about the safety of canned salmon and tuna, surely there are other things you can eat?

I buy frozen tuna steaks from whole foods. They are caught in the Atlantic. I cook them up and flake them myself.

I found a worm in my starkist so I'm done with canned tuna.

Trader Joe's used to have one, but I don't know if they still do.

How much tuna are you planning to eat?!? Sorry, just joking.... Well, partly. I'm not sure how much radiation there actually will be to be concerned about in the tuna (I'm 51, so I will take my chances, I suppose), but I can tell you from my days working for the Dept of Energy that there are varying amounts of certain radioactive chemicals in the soil all over the place, so even US veggies have some radiation depending on where they come from...

Just FYI.  It appears that the amount of radiation is quite negligible:

So unless you plan to eat lots and lots of tuna, it is safer than eating a banana.
