Breath Mints
With all this protein, I'm starting to notice my breath is not as fresh as it needs to be especially at work. Any suggestions for some bariatric friendly breath mints. I'm thinking Altoids, any others?
There are some that are sugar free, like ice breakers. But be careful how many you eat, or you can get explosive diarrhea.
Do a search for the breath issue. It happens to a fair number of postops, but I can't quite recall why. Ketosis maybe?

I found sugar-free gum more enjoyable. And I brushed my teeth constantly and I drank a lot more water. All those things helped. My surgeon said when my bad breath went away, my loss would slow. Darned if he was not right...been very slow this past month and my son remarked in the car yesterday my breath, and I quote "Wasn't nearly as bad as it has been!"

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
I have the worst time with this! I don't think I have ketosis breath, but I do work closely with people (mostly 12-13 year-old-people who would not hesitate to tell me I smelled), so I feel like I need SOMETHING in the middle of the day. But sugar-free and I DO NOT get along; even only as much aspartame as is in a stick of gum makes me sick.
What I have found that works pretty well are the Listerine tabs. They have aspartame, but only a very tiny amount, and they are SUPER strong, so if I only eat 1/2 of one, I'm good!
