What do you take for pain
I had Percocet after surgery. Now I take Tylenol for knee pain. Good luck!

There is no reason you cannot continue to take Norco after RNY. It has an opiate and acetominophen (Tylenol), but has no NSAID (which is what we should not take).
Vicodin, Norco, etc. and a lower strength "opiate-like" drug called Tramadol are what most people rely on post-RNY. (I took Vicodin for 5 years after my RNY (which was 7 years ago) for knee and abdominal pain.)

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
In the hospital I was initially on a Fentanyl PCA pump, then transitioned to Percocet by mouth (pills) before I left the hospital. I was sent home on Percocet, which I took for about two weeks, then transitioned to Norco/Vicodin for several more weeks (I had an issue with a large hematoma on my abdominal muscle over my left trocar site for ~7 weeks).
For everyday aches and pains I take Tylenol. I have taken Fioricet for for awhile for headaches and have no problem still taking it when I need to. I also have taken Tramadol and muscle relaxers for cramps for some time prior to surgery because I'm allergic to NSAIDS, and still have no problem taking those as needed.
Best wishes!
