Optifast 900

Hi folks I'm new here so excuse me if this is already been discussed but I've been on the Optifast for 12 days and so far my weight-loss is only been 8 pounds! I am sticking rigidly to the diet of only Optifast and decaf coffee (black) and I'm getting all my water in it. Has anyone else experienced this?  My surgery is April 16/14 so I want to be sure my liver is shrunk enough for them to operate. I am worried!

 

Day 14 for me I was only down 7 pounds.......day of surgery which was day 19 I was down 14 pounds.  Don't get discouraged.  It all works out, trust me. 

 

Hi Maggie. I'm from Kingston too and having my surgery on the 10th. My weight loss was about the same for the first two weeks and in the third week it seems to be coming off again. As long as you are following the diet you shouldn't have an issue with your liver not shrinking.

So you have been drinking optifast  for 12 days and surgery is on 4/16 wow good for you and that is all you are aloud? I am having mine on 4/21/2014 and also on my pre op protein drink for 14 days .

Hi Naomi we can have 1/4 of skim milk a day as well as 20 extra calories...I haven't been hungry at all so that is good!!

 

The surgeons in Ottawa require all patients to do three weeks of optifast prior to surgery.

What all can you have on the Optifast ?
