Milestone for Me
Team,
I hit a big milestone for me today (tomorrow is my 11-week anniversary from RNY)....down 50.0 pounds. 355.4 to 305.4 this morning.
I think I really needed to hit that number as much as I need my first digit to change to a 2....it's sparked me to refocus. I had lost my focus a couple weeks ago, eating badly (including sugary drinks like Gatorade).
Also, I had the first person that has known me comment on my weight loss last night, I sort of thought I'd get that more but I didn't. I guess when you get as far along as I was it takes 50 pounds before someone notices at all. I know I'm down 4" on my waist from my belt, but I had also just recently gained 30 pounds so maybe it just looks like 20 to those around me. Now in my mid-40's I've been "obese" for about 5-6 years, prior to that I was "overweight" for about 10 years and before that I was usually too thin (e.g. under 150-165 at 6'1").
I have two more blocks of 50 pounds to go to get to the goal I set for myself (205). I think my ideal weight would be 185, however, I'm not sure being in my mid-40's and with the extra skin I'll have from losing 150ish pounds if that is realistic. Hopefully I can get the next block of 50 off in 14 weeks (3 weeks longer than the first block) - early October. And, then the last block off in 19ish weeks for a Valentine's Day present to myself.
Thanks for your support!

Good job! I know what you mean about expecting more notice... you are right though, people have a perception of you. It is surprising how many people don't really truly look at someone. For many people it takes a true drastic loss for their eyes to be opened and to suddenly realize how much you have lost. I have people now come up to me all surprised like they just noticed the loss when it has been dropping steadily for 7 months!
Keep up the good work!
