What's on your menu, RNYers?
Good morning, it looks like a beautiful day in PA, though I have to admit to still being in bed! My library is having some emergency repair work done, so we'll be opening late. With the craziness of the last ew days, I decided to give myself a pass to stay in bed a bit late today - I am, after all, going to water aerobics tonight!
Given my stressful morning yesterday I'm wondering....what are some of the ways you deal with stress now instead of turning to food? This gets talked about a lot - but since there are always different voices on this post, I think it's worth asking again.
Time since surgery: 15 weeks today
B: greek yogurt with wheat germ, whole wheat mini muffin
S: Coffee! Nectar protein shake (I'm retrying some of the flavors I decided I didn't like earlier out)
L: Quest bar, I'm visiting at a day camp today so I'll be there over lunch
Pre Gym S: Babybel Lite, frozen pineapple chunks
D: a new chicken recipe that I'm unsure of (baked it Sunday night), with some homemade parmesan crisps (just parmesan cheese zapped for a few seconds and allowed to cool)
S: SF popsicle (I'm addicted now that the weather is hot), roasted chickpeas if I need them
TOTALS: Calories 847, Protein 94, Carbs 54, Fat 30
V: starting momentarily
W: damn, I'm getting good at drinking A LOT of liquids!
E: water aerobics + running around with the camp group!
Hope everyone has a great day! It was an extremely quiet day on the post yesterday - where is everyone?!

I never participate but I read this every day! I do not track either, other than protein in my head. I am so close to goal this morning that I am trying to get there soon! I may lower it another 10 lbs, but I want to get to my major goal first.
b - Premier Protein shake
s - Greek yogurt and granola
l - Greek yogurt and granoloa
s - soy nuts
d - making foil packets with tilapia, hope it turns out! may have some green beans also
s - almonds, raisins, soy nuts mix... usually have my chickpeas in the mix, but it was too hot last night in the house to make a new batch
Dealing with stress, that is a good question. Spent some time in therapy and one of the things that I have learned to say to myself during that time is, "it will pass", meaning that feeling will pass, and I just focus on something else, and within an hour, it does... just keep saying "it will pass....".
So close! That's amazing! Keep up the good work - thanks for joining us today!

I was wondering where everyone was too Anny! As far as what I do to combat stress I knit or read a good book or go for a walk or write in my journal or work with my dog on commands for obedience class. I just basically try to find something to keep myself busy and out of the kitchen! Lily the rescue dog is doing so much better. She now answers to her name and comes when I call her. Now we are working on learning sit and stay. Oddly she does better with stay than sit. She does sit now when I barely touch her backside. We are definitely making progress and, most important of all, having fun! We can't walk today because rain is in the area here. Not raining hard but enough to get us wet in the time it takes to do three miles. In a minute I will head downstairs for 30 minutes at 4.5 mph on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the bike. On track with fluids and vitamins so far. Post op about 22 months and maintaining at 120.6 pounds. Here's the eats: B 1/2 c oats and nut mix and 1/2 banana with peanut butter L 1/2 c sloppy Joe meat and 1/2 c Greek yogurt S whole grain crackers with peanut butter D 31/2 oz fish 1/2 c.sweet potatoes S 3/4 c Greek yogurt with nuts. Have a great day everybody!
Good morning Karen - yeah it was a really quiet yesterday, weird.
I used to be a journal-er but haven't done so in adulthood - maybe I'll take a foray into journaling again.
Sounds like you'll have a good day, though the rain is yucky!
