Ugh, went home last night but the pain last night and today feels worse than yesterday.  I am just trying to get my protein shakes and water down and walk as much as I can.  They have me vicodin which helps but it puts me to sleep, and I want to get my fluids down.

Just whining :/

Hang in there and remind yourself that this is the worst part. When you come home you sometimes feel worse because the pain meds are different. Rest as nyou need to to heal and make sure to walk and get your fluids in and each day will get a bit better. Once you begin to lose weight it all gets a lot easier. Welcome to the losers bench!

Hang in there - it DOES get better.

Be kind to yourself and take it real slow and easy for a little while.

Take care

That has been my experience with every surgery that I have ever had.  The first day you still have some of the heavy duty pain meds in your system and still have some of the effects of the anesthesia "helping out".

As the others said, it will get better. In a few weeks you won't even remember how you feel today.

I felt the same way last week after my VSG. I feel 90% better now. It's hard, but you can do it. It really does get SO much better!

An update...

Today is better than yesterday.  This is my first surgery soI just don't think I was prepared for the post opp pain.  They took my gallbladder out too and my surgeon said it was one of the biggest ones she had seen, and was solid gallstones.  They had to cut through the muscle to get it out, so I am sure that is adding to the pain.  It also feels like a lot of the gas is gone too now.

Taking it one day at a time!
