So I reached the 50 lb mark today. I have been eating out more than I would like just because life happens, and it is summer so that means trips down south to San Diego, and visiting with family. But in that eating out, I am making the right choices. It has been hot as all get out and have wanted that milkshake from In-n-Out, or an ice cold soda, or any other cold fattening thing, and really have gotten a little bored with the food I can have. So I am becoming creative in what I eat, making sure it is something different every day and meal, and that has helped, and I haven't had a single thing that I have wanted. I want them because that is what I did in the past to cool off. Although I would kill to eat some watermelon right now, so instead I am putting it in my water to give it the flavor. So I have worked through the biggest hurdle really of just eating whatever I wanted when I wanted to. While the weight loss has been slower than I liked, I am still losing. I am having nausea issues, but think it might be my IH related issues as it has been hot. Losing weight may also be affecting my shunt, and may need to get in to my Neurosurgeon to see about a change in setting.

What I am most excited about is I have an interview today and wednesday with two school districts for a counseling position (currently a teacher) and when trying to figure out what I could wear for the interview, I realized that all my professional clothes are way too big, and my Mother-in-Law took me shopping. When I tried on clothes, I literally had no idea what size to get, just knew that I couldn't get the size I wore before, and turned out that I am 4 sizes smaller. In 7 weeks I lost 4 sizes. While I had swore I wouldn't buy clothes for a while, I had to look nice for the interview, this is my dream job and need to make a good impression. So today I am wearing a dress that emphasizes the slimmer waist, and makes me feel sexy. Also apparently my husband is liking the new me, and he keep****ting on me.

So yes, I won't be at below 250 when I start school, but I will be healthier than I was last year. I look amazing already, I feel better, and my IH will never go away, but I can live with it. Now if only I could get my protein in. I have no issues with water, it is the protein that I have issues with. The days my nausea is bad even with zofran, I really struggle to get to 50 g. Most days I get to around 60g. So the protein is a work in progress.

Good luck on your interview today. Let your new more confident self shine and I am sure you will do great. And congratulations on your weight loss! You are doing great there for sure. I used to hate shopping before I lost weight. Most times if I needed something to wear my husband would have to go with me because I wouldn't find anything on my own. Every thing looked sloppy so I just couldn't choose. Now I love to hit up resale shops and Goodwill for good buys and know just about anything will look good. Just keep following your new healthy lifestyle and making good choices even when you have to go out to eat and you will continue to be successful!

I was in the same boat.  I did not want to buy clothes.  I am also a teacher and I realized that I cannot start the school year in a t-shirt and stretch pants.  I had no clue what size I was.  I went into my favorite store (which is for large women).  I was lucky that I had a great sales person who kept bringing me clothes to try on in smaller sizes.  I realized that it would be the last time I could shop there for clothes because I am in their smallest size.  Good luck on your job search and have fun trying on new clothes
