Good day!!  Just wanted to take a few minutes and introduce myself.  I'm Carrie from Wilmington, DE.  I had the VSG in Feb 2012, lost about 60 lbs, then stopped losing.  Most of my adult life I've be at 330lbs.  So that is where my body stopped losing this time also.  I went to see Dr. Michael Peters with Chrias here in Delaware.  He said the VSG to RNY revision is possible and he will do it for me.  I'm so excited.  I've started the process.  With my insurance, I need 4 months of Nutrition classes, 2 NP visits and 1 Psychologist along with the regular Cardio and Pulmonary visit.  I use MFP for counting my cals daily.  I lurk here and read as much as possible.

Any advice or tips for the newbie (me) are warmly welcomed.

Thanks and have an awesome day!!

Welcome!  I am one who had both surgeries (within a day of each other due to complications).  So I can relate to both VSGers and RNYers :)  I suggest browsing both message boards as I've learned a lot from both.  Best of luck!!

Revision on 07/29/14

I have had both surgeries.  My sleeve was botched I lost very little, when my new surgeon went in he was shocked at what he found. I had my revision on July 29th and have lost 29lbs.  It's slow but steady.  I believe that it's the best decision I could have made.

Hi there! I had VSG in 2010. Lost close to 80 lbs and never got to goal. Gained back 40 and have maintained that for the last two years. I just had my endoscopy Monday with my original surgeon and now he writes report to submit for insurance approval. With my insurance I won't have to do any preop diet or visits like the first time since its a revision and he said I meet their criteria so we just have to wait for the official approval.

   Good luck to you!!
