Hi everyone.  I am just completing a long journey towards wls.  Just signed the surgery papers and am waiting for a date for an rny.  I have no idea what to expect for recovery and diet and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Good luck!  I am pre-op as well.  My plan is to follow doctors orders to the T so I can get the most out of the first initial 18 months of weight-loss.  Congratulations on the road to a new you!!

I am also pre-op and so far the best resource was actually the Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies book. Lots of good info and advice.

I bought the book "Experts Guide To Weight Loss" by Dr. Garth Davis before my surgery. It has a lot of good information and advice and follows closely to what my surgeon recommends.

Also, start trying out protein drinks and protein bars to see which ones you like. But do not buy too many. Your tastes will probably change several times through this process. Mine did.  Your nutritionist should have guidelines about what to look for in protein drinks and bars. Not all of them on the market are healthy for us. In fact most of them are too high in carbs and calories and too low in protein. So start researching now.
