Low platelets

I went in this week to PCP for URI and got meds. They did a blood test, called and left message for me last night that I have low platelets.  All I want to do is sleep, get really dizzy and faint at times but make myself stay up usually I am an insomniac but can easily sleep 10-12 hrs easily.Has anyone had this problem and if so how do they handle it. Waiting for return call from PCP to discuss what we are going to do, meds or infusion.  Please share your experiences. 

Personally I go to the experts in their field - I would suggest a referral to a haematologist/oncologist and not rely on a PCP to treat you.
