Hi!

I have had night sweats for the last two years.  I assumed they are related to perimenopause but I am youngish for that, 40.  I have been taking neurontin for it which has really helped but the last few nights I have gotten up in the night SOAKED, like half the queen size bed is soaked.  And the disturbing thing is that I have a very strange feeling, like creepy crawly skin feeling and dizzy and just really odd, it reminds me of when I was a much younger woman and experimented with drugs.  Both mornings I have woken up really thirsty so I am wondering if the sweats are causing dehydration.  I am drinking plenty and eating well.  I do dump and i do have reactive hypoglycemia but ate nothing which would have caused that either night.  Any ideas?  I am sick to death of this!

You can be perimenopausal at 40, they say it can happen for 10 years before menopause. I know that was true for me. I know I used to have episodes of that 'odd' feeling, pins and needles and felt like waves of weirdness going through my body head to toe....As well as hot flashes and sometime nausea.  Is this the case for you? I don't know, it may sound unusual but not so much to me... I used to call them my 'episodes' . That being said I don't know where you are in your journey, but it is my understanding from my gynecologist  that fat cells produce estrogen, so as you lose weight your estrogen may drop which can cause hot flashes etc.... I don't have any answers except don't panic.
