Two weeks out, NO desire to eat or drink - seeking suggestions

My dr bumped me to pureed foods 1 week after surgery.  Prior to surgery I had done 2 shakes a day and one meal, then of course I had one week of all liquid, prior to surgery.  I made baked ricotta, crab/egg salad, avocado/egg salad, tuna salad, scrambled egg w/cheese and of course whizzed them all up.  The last couple of days I'm struggling to do 20 oz of water and have ZERO appetite.  I managed to down one Premier Protein today and still haven't finished 20 oz of water. I stopped at Panera and had them dump the lentil/quinoa/egg into the blender and am sipping on that now.  Any suggestions, other than JUST shakes for upping my intake or should I relax and just do the shakes?

I stayed on shakes for a hot minute.  I did not like anything.. :(  Do what you doc says but by the 7th or 8th week I started on some soft foods and it all worked out fantastic :)

Good luck....

Same here, shakes were nasty for me too.  I don't think I met my protein goals even for one day in the first couple of weeks...but I tried.

My dietician only has me eating when I'm actually hungry. Just keep up on your liquids. Just to give you an example, I had my so far only meal of the day about eight hours ago. I'm not hungry yet, though starting to fade a bit. :) YMMV

I didn't have this issue, but I didn't start puree/very soft until 3 weeks. Our puree plan started us with 1/4 cup (2 oz) 3x day plus our fluids. Continue to follow your doctor's plan, knowing that your pouch isn't ready for much food (1 oz). Make sure you get in enough fluids, so you won't become dehydrated.

So my tastes changed big time post op. I am also two weeks post op and struggling would be an understantment for me! I can choke down one premier protien chocolate if it is ice cold or partially frozen only. Water I am good on. But I struggle with the fact that I can't have water 1/2 hr before eating, then I am supposed to take a half hour to eat 2oz of food, followed by another 1/2hr of no water. So it actually takes me 1 1/2hrs for my "earrings regimine" times this by 4 to 5 times which is what my doctor wants and basically all day I should be ending one cycle and repeating. How do you ge****er in?!! Whoever came up with that crazy plan obviously didn't draw it out (I actually did lol). Anyways in addition everything with sugar is too sweet now, even my protien sups which I bought many diff kinds and my post op neighbor brought me two more kids as well. It's frustrating. So I started with adding in one meal mid afternoon since it takes all morning to choke down a shake. Then I moved on today to adding a second meal evening time. It worked out well. However there is no way in hell I can add a third at this point. My pouch won't take it and I need my water breaks. I have an appt wed for staple removal and will ask my plethora of questions then.

I am two weeks out, I have had no problems with the shakes, yogurt and cottage cheese.  I am due to start stage 4 which is soft foods which I will start tomorrow.  My problem is drinking 64 oz of liquid.  I find it hard to get all that liquid down and not drink for 30 minutes before and after eating.

I stayed on shakes for about a month immediately post-op. I had no urge to eat pureed anything. I had no appetite, either, but knew my body needed nutrition to heal.

I promise it gets better!!! Hang in there!!
