I should have got premier protein!!! I tasted the strawberry and creme and it was good... instead i went with baritric advance strawberry powder and its terrible but money wise it gets hard and was trying to go with best option and now that i have it have to stick with it, but yes i will think the positive not the negitive.

This is the better attitude/I will find a way to make this work attitude, that will make your surgery a success.

This is what you need to do!

If something is not working, find a suitable alternative.

TALK TO YOUR TEAM!

I would ask your doctor that question and not necessarily rely on us to tell you are fit for surgery-

You will have to eat properly once you have the surgery so you need to seek help now- are you seeing a therapist or support group or both?

I was just saying that I would ask the dr about the pre op diet if you have any concerns due to your post.

We aren't medical professionals so I would still ask the dr

And- this board has helped me tremendously and you will love it too I'm sure :)

No ... a surgical support group is a group of people that dont know what the hell they are doing, that are *****ing. They are in the same boat you are in.

Only 1 or 2 people (i.e. the leaders and psychologist) have a clue what is going on...

If you are food addicted (i.e. cant follow the rules, have trigger foods or drinks) you need a REAL therapist to get it figured out NOW versus later.

My cousin was food addicted, had the surgery, and almost DIED because he couldnt resist a SMALL PIECE of pizza his family left after dinner.

It was scary.

I have talked about it MANY times.

Get your head fixed BEFORE THE surgery.

I had issues (mental) I had to address before the surgery. I did the preop phase 3 times before I had the surgery. The first two times, my head was not in the right place.

You get ONE SHOT at this. MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY SO IT COUNTS!!!

What helped me was eating my main meal of the day at lunch instead of dinner; I get hungrier during the middle of the day and I'm at work so I drain more energy :)

My surgery is later this summer. I know that pre-op diet will be hard!! Eating so little while still having my big ole stomach...but it's just for two weeks. Just keep telling yourself "I can do anything for 9 days...8 days...7 days...." It'll be here before you know it.

Moving is *terrible* for a diet. We are moving too right now. I am not pre-op, but I have been working on some of the changes they have suggested, and moving makes it a lot harder. Routines are all thrown, life is super busy, stuff is in boxes...it's a rough time to take on new routines.

I was tempted to cheat then I googled it. Not worth it to me. There have been cases where people's livers havent shrunk enough because they cheated/didnt comply and the doctors closed them up. I am not about to waste my time and money and the risk of anesthesia at the weight I was at for that to happen.

You can do it. Seriously, we just have to suck it up. I am 14 months out and still have to have that attitude sometimes.
