Hang in there and remember, pain meds are a good thing.

May I ask why it was an open surgery?

It's my 4th open surgery.  I have divaticulitus  and had a ruptured  Colan  a few years back followed  by multiple  hernia s.  Lots of scar tissue and stomach  mesh to get through.   Surgery was 5 hrs.

Be kind to yourself but sip sip sip Water as much as you can. Like it is your job! It Will make you feel better. It will. And walk walk walk as much as you are able. Not fast. Just simply Move. It will also make you feel better faster. But you also need Sleep. Balance it as best you can. Water is the key. There are a million details to learn make Water #1 for now and the rest will follow. So glad you're on the other side. Congrats! Take good care!
