good morning av and menu crew and Happy Monday to y'all!

I had a good weekend, Saturday morning my wife and I were at the gym by 8:30 am , we went and had breakfast at our local friendys and did some meal planning and groceries. I smoked a whole chicken for dinner Saturday night. I love smoked chicken, so moist and tender! I coached a couple of hockey games yesterday and we went out to dinner with a friend.

QOTD - I prefer a Pumpkin Roll, through a warm apple crisp with some vanilla ice cream sounds incredible.

S - Caramel Apple pie greek yogurt

L - Taco salad with guacamole and no chips

S - buddig turkey & string cheese

I had a good weekend! Friday night, I did have 2 glasses of wine (planned) and that was probably my limit! The Rocky Horror Picture Show was great! We all had a good time with that.

I hate the scale... Friday morning 182.0, then 179.6 on Saturday morning (probably because I drank the wine instead of water), Sunday morning 181.4. So, it's like the scale rewarded me for drinking... bad philosophy, I realize...

QOTD: Pumpkin pie, but only if I can smother it in the canned whipped cream... seriously.smothered.pumpkin.pie. And I will not be having it this year. Not ready to try out sugars... but I may have a squirt or two of the whipped cream as my treat.

B: Premier Protein Shake

L: leftover brat/cheddar jalapeno/lamb sausages from lunch last week (I left it here over the weekend, must eat it today)

D: Some kind of grilled fish and spaghetti squash

S: beef jerky

QOTD. Nothing should taste like pumpkin. Not even pumpkin. I'm pretty sure I would not eat pumpkin spice flavored ribeye. Blech to all things pumpkin flavored.

You know what should taste like apples? Yeah, apples, that's what. I'd eat an apple, but not apple flavored things.

Did you all know that anything pumpkin flavored is not pumpkin at all? Even those cans of pumpkin pie filling-- they are squash, not pumpkin. That's because actual pumpkin tastes like ghost droppings.

hey yall

Weekend was good- saturday we went with neighbors to an irish pub- i had blacken grouper and broccoli and sauteed spinach.

i made dessert for the group- it was a dark hot chocolate souffle with ice cream on top- very high in calories. I did try it and it was very good and rich. neighbors also had apple bread I had made. i was a good girl and limited myself to one tiny bite (you know a chef has to taste the food or however you want to justify it)

Had free yoga saturday and ran yesterday. 5k is sunday! scary- wanting to beat my personal record but i'm not sure how that will work with just a month from surgery. friend from HS will meet me and we will eat brunch after i think.

yesterday I stayed at home and did house things (laundry/dishes/organizing). i did reorganize the pantry so that was fun

Tonight is support group. I did not go last month (surgery) and the month before I was on vacation. sooo- i have to go tonight!

running low on cooked food= have a TON in freezer just need to cook it.

struggling a bit with wanting to eat - sometimes i tell myself i just don't need it and drink instead- sometimes i have broccoli or carrots instead to not add too many calories.

QOTD: I think apple over pumpkin- I like the taste and texture better- BUT I do love sweet potato better than pumpkin.

Today Im having:

B: protein muffin/CM milk/decaf/miralax

S:

L: tuna packet/eggplant

D: free mcmuffin at mcdonalds today if you have the app

S: unsure

I've started having low carb veggies when I get the snackies. I only do it between meals so that at meal time I can get my protein in. As long as I'm getting my approx. 80 grams of protein in a day, I don't worry about snacking on veggies. I do put them into MFP though and it's crazy that there's carbs and calories in cucumbers. What?

My dad makes the BEST apple pie you can even dream of...but if I'm honest, I'm more inclined to like pumpkin-y stuff, in general. Has anyone tried the Chobani Flips Pumpkin?? To die for. TO DIE FOR.

Ok, I'm finally back to a weight I'm comfortable with after a week on the high end. But I just had leftover Chinese food for breakfast so we'll see how long that lasts ;) #3dayweekend #norules

Today we are taking my dad to a Brazilian Steak house for lunch to pre-celebrate his 70th birthday. I hear the meat is incredible. Can't wait to report back on the meaty goodness!

Have a great day!

I'm picking up some of that pumpkin Chobani flip as soon as I get back home!  I don't know what it is with this town I'm in now (in North Carolina).  It took me forever to find any pumpkin-flavored yogurt.  I finally found it at a store in the  next town over - but they only have the Dannon F&L variety.  Which is fine - I pretty much backed up the truck to the store entrance and loaded it up.   But so different from the stores where I live.  Maybe Midwesterners are bigger pumpkin fans?  Who knows..
