Yes the 'range' is what I do... but still fight the mind demons. Then there's the 'freak out' number

In my head logic...sure range...obviously makes sense.  In my emotional 'inner demon' land...nothing is EVER good enough. Arrrggg. Need to slay the demons.

I have a range. And I'm currently at the top top of it, too... I'm not freaking out like I did 8 months ago--the first time the scale went up instead of down. You'll get more used to the natural fluctuations and 90% of the time it's water weight, anyway!

This time (for me) it's no****er. It's fat. And I am really buckling down and dealing with it. But again--not panicked. Because I've maintained my range for 8+ months and I know it's within my control, now.

It just takes time!

I have a top number. Then range ...and as long I am withing or below the range - I try to relax.

I wrote "try" because even if I am well below my range - when j see the weight change on the scale with + in front of it...my heart skips a beat. Even when I am trying to gain 5 lbs now.

And I have a lot of practice in maintenance. I still have to talk to myself.

Good morning.  Well, the "add fiber to every meal to stop the pounding/racing heart" didn't work so well.  It was just day one, so I'm trying again, as I said I'd do it for a week.  DQOTD:  I exchange gifts with my brother/sister in law/mother and a few of my friends.  My book club does a secret santa gift exchange and with others it's a night out.  My brother used to give great hints as to what he wanted. "I think I need to go to the Oakley store and look at new ski goggles.  I think I want XXXX model with the grey lenses and black frame."  Why, thank you very much . . . consider it done.  He doesn't do that anymore and it makes it soooo much harder for me.

My plan:

B: Ham (3.8.oz) and beans (morning fiber)

L:  New york strip and broccoli

D: Pork chop and 1.5 oz sweet potato

S: latte with 4 oz fairlife milk, almonds, turkey

Totals: Cal. 921; Protein: 102g; Fat: 29g; Carbs 62g (I'm not liking the "add fiber to every meal" plan.  Carbs are too high.)

I may have missed how fiber helps.... but your carbs are still low...maybe not as low as you are used to, but not over the top.

The theory with the fiber.  Fiber slows digestion.  So, the dietitian wants me to eat fiber at every meal to see if it slows the rate my food hits my intestines.  The hope is it will slow it enough that the racing/pounding heart will stop or decrease to the point where it isn't happening every time I eat.  I'm so used to seeing carbs under 50g that anything over that makes me break out in a cold sweat . . . (kidding, but I'm not used to seeing them higher)
