Agreed, it's hard to get used to the idea of buying and cooking appropriate portions although I do weight or measure everything I eat. Never had these kind of leftovers before, it's mind boggling. The obsession is strong.

was just thinking about this again- I've been only buying exactly what I plan to cool for meals- I forget where you live, but I do kroger clicklist. I tell them on the order 1 apple, 1 onion, etc. They bring to car so the buying too much impulse is reduced.

That would be ideal, but we don't have anything like that here. Out of sight out of mind. I definitely impulse buy.

I have always been a well stocked pantry person... If it is on sale, and something I use I buy multiples. The further out I get on this journey the smaller my pantry is getting... I just don't need it there. Don't need things that will be temptations either even if they could be healthy.... too much is still too much. It is a learning curve.

Like protein Bars - I don't need a stock pile of 20 types. Real food is better, and they are the occasional convenience... but having 2,3, or 4 in the house for an occasional convenience is more appropriate than a stockpile. Stockpiles are too tempting...

So far temptation is not an issue for me as I'm still very early out and have no hunger. I'm sure I am shopping and hoarding to replace eating. I still think about food constantly and somewhere I still think that I can still eat like I used too. I still buy fresh vegetables but I don't/can't eat them and we can't possible eat the 20 some-odd kinds of cheese and lunch meat we have - that will all go bad.......I am at the point where I know it's ridiculous but so far I haven't been able to stop or keep it reasonable. Writing this thread has helped open my eyes quite a bit.

I am only 3 months out, but the physical changes after surgery were unbelievable. I can hardly eat now, I don't care about eating and I'm not hungry BUT I still think about food all the time. I worry that if I don't get this under control and/or work through this that when I do start to have hunger and more capacity to eat I could be in trouble. I refuse to let this happen and the surgery be for nothing!!

Doing the work now
