Good morning menu folks! I'll give it a try starting the thread today. I had a nice weekend. I have been doing all things pickle. I had a seminar on fermenting different kinds of pickles yesterday, and that was fun and informative. I also started several varieties on Saturday with different fruits and veggies. I have a presentation that I'm giving in a few weeks so I need samples.

QOTD: I love going to different National Parks. Which are your favorites? I still love my first one, the Shenandoah National Park and the Blueridge Parkway. I grew up in Virginia near the park and I feel so at home whenever I am there. It is quiet and relaxing. Now that I am in better shape, I want to do some hiking there. It will be hard since my wife has mobility problems, but I'd like to go sometime before fall.

Accountability: I had a pretty healthy weekend, and I stuck with my plan.

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, TJ's ham

Snack: Grape protein shake

Lunch: TJ's sun dried chicken sausage

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast

Dinner: Turkey breast, Brussels Sprouts

Exercise: 60 minutes on the treadmill

Morning!

I had a busy busy weekend, but awesome one, below are a couple of pics from the show yesterday. They estimate that 750 000 people showed up over the weekend. Amazing. Today we settle into the office space. Round one of salary negotiations went horribly. Today is round two. I'm sure we can come to some agreement.

qotd: I can't say I've ever been to a national park in the states. And in Canada, embarrassingly, I've been to very few. Maybe two? Cape Breton (and that was just to take my husband to a golf course...) and one in Prince Edward Island (really just to get to the Anne of Green Gables House)

Something I need to remedy...could be a fun goal.

accountability:

after the show yesterday, we ended up at Baton Rouge. I had some crab cakes, a coconut shrimp and some calimari. It's not often I don't have a good idea of my carbs and calories, but I'm sure they were way higher than I'd like. So I'm going amaw for a couple of days anyway to counter it.

Menu:

B: coffeevwith premier protein

L: leftover Dhaba chicken and beef vindaloo

D: steak

S: tuna salad

have a good one!

We sent away for the Canada 150 parks pass, but I was a bit dismayed that there aren't any National Parks in the GTA area- so even with free admission, I doubt we will get to any this year. My sister spent a few days at Pellee (sp?) Island and loved it.

Last year we spent time at a couple of provincial parks, but the weather hasn't been all that cooperative, and we've had a super busy summer with moving and everything. I really hope that August is nice although it's already shaping up to be quite busy as well.

We've got ours too! I think the best bang for your buck with those passes, is a trip to pei and Nova Scotia. So many parks and historical sites that are covered by the passes in that area. But we go east every second summer or so, so I've hit most of them. Alberta is a another area, but getting there is a bit more pricey.

agreed about the weather. We haven't been camping once this year!

Thanks, working on this "balance" thing. Although I wasn't too successful I kinda forgot and put feta and veggies on my burger patty last night ...

I love Anne of Green Gables if you're on Netflix, there's a new original series called Anne with an "E" I binged the whole first season Saturday night (7 episodes, the pilot episode being much longer)

I know! I need to get on that. Maybe after Game of thrones I can talk hubby into that being our next show.....although I did get him to listen to the first book on our last trip to PEI and he was like, nothing happened? I literally gasped hahahha
