Are you saying I misjudged the intention here Pammie?

How does that feel?

Just a note: I see the original post has now been altered. I imagine others may have been as well. Good.

For the record, I don't generally attach motive to OH posts. And in this case I am glad to see a clarification.

Oh how I have missed the main board. LOL. Love it.

I had a professor that once said - Opinions are like _ _ _ holes, everyone has one! LOL. I love to read and interpret and get a chuckle.

I've noticed you've posted multiple times that you really find pleasure in watching people argue on this board. Why?

  • High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
  • High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
  • Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
  • Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
  • Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

I do not find pleasure in it, it actually bothers me and keeps me from posting. There are genuine and nice people on here and I include you and John in that group as well as Daisy, Cynthia, Maryanne , Kelly, Pammie and Elizabeth and many others I am not intentionally missing here. I realize that things can be misinterpreted via social interaction and email and in the work place I prefer a good old face to face. I had not viewed a post in quite some time and I just found it ironic that I came to the board and saw the same old moaning and groaning, life is too damn short. I prefer positive and happy and if anyone has a site or board where that is the theme than please count me in.

Edited to add - I do not see a majority of the moaners and groaners as I just prefer to block - out of sight, out of mind!

It's a shame to see people so mean spirited. I think when people show you who they are, believe them!

I thought the irony and playfulness of the 'should I bring fudge' at the end was apparent. Sorry if it wasn't clear. My post was intended to discuss the challenges of seeing so much delicious temptation in the break room during the holidays not to suggest that there is anything wrong or inappropriate with my co-workers bringing in treats. Hope that helps clarify.

I decided to make little mini meatloaves to share and they are going over great.

Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday!

Sometimes irony or playfulness do not transfer very well as we write a post.

when you used a phrase like " I am stunned at how much bad for you food is tied to celebrating the holidays", I got impression as you not being really realistic. Using terms "bad food" can indicate a judgement.

IMO - there are no "bad" or "good" food. Sure, some may not be that great overall, and eating them can increase person chance to get sick or gain weight. But like with everything else- it is good to remember the way we used to be and eat... before RNY.

Unfortunately - some people get WLS and still believe they can eat like they used to before. They get disappointed when they don't lose enough, or gain some or all of it back.

In my first 2-3 years post op I was trying to incorporate "healthier" choices for our employees get together: fruits and veggies, cold cuts, healthier wraps and sandwiches. That was not received well.
