I rarely get angry and when I do, it's rarely about something I can effect. Today, myself, my company and my partner were libeled by a former employee. It's very frustrating and although I am able to take legal action (and may have to) - at this moment, there is not much I can do but feel upset about the whole thing.

Now normally when upset, I'd turn to food but that really is no option anymore. I feel this whole manage negative emotions without resorting to food kinda blows right now. I'd like some chocolate cake. I will have to settle for a protein shake.

Anyone else have a good cure for over-the-top anger?

I would say exercise as well.  When it's something you can't control then you really have to come to the realization that it is completely out of your hands.  Right now my husband and I are faced with a big tax bill.  I've saved about $5,000 so we could go to Florida for a vacation this summer, well all that money plus a bit more is going to pay the IRS.  I'm really frustrated and mad, but there is nothing I can do about it.  It's completely out of my hands.  I have a choice, I can either stew and be angry and mad and pissy to everyone or I can be thankful that we have jobs, pay the damn bill and move on and hopefully plan better this year.  It's all about perspective.

Hang in there.  Try and relax and if need be, take something to help you sleep.

personally, i have always found a good cleaning of the house always helps simmer me down.  mine usually includes pulling the fridge and stove out of the way and scrubbing the walls and floor lol
