Remember early this week when my kid hurt my incision?

Well my 3 year earlier this week fought me getting into a chair and kicked my farmost left incision and opened it up.  It scabbd over and doc said it would be fine.

Now it is seeping and scab has turned gray.  No smell, no redness, no fever  I think the tension of belly hanging is reopening the incision.  I am cleaning and dosing it in betadine.

But I am not sure because I cant see beneath the scab to see if it is pink skin or a wound.  Im 16 days.   It just looks gross and is sore.

Any thoughts?

Anyway you can go to your Doctor and have him look at it just in case? I do remember your post.

I guess what I mean is why wouldn't doctors make the incisiions verticle rather than horizontal in a high tension spot like a morbidly obese man's stomach?  You would then have less risk of pulling wound open.

I know this  may not  sound  like a   idea  you will like  first  off  ask  your  dr   if he/she can take a look at it  just  to be sure  and  as for the  hanging  maybe   a binder? or a girdle? if   your stomach is not   real sore  i imagine  if  there  is   any sort of hanging skin it is  probably  pulling on the  sore area  but   please  ask  your  dr   just to be sure. good luck

I agree with Rinny.  I had an abdominal binder post op.  Its kind of a pain in the @$$ to put on but it really supports your abdomen and incision.  Surgeons don't usually do vertical incisions for this, i don't know why either.  Good luck JB!
