body lotion and incisions/stitches?

How soon after laproscopic VSG can you put lotion on your abdomen?

I would say a few days, just not close to the incisions. And make sure they stay nice and dry!

I think I waited until after my 2 wk followup.

My surgeon said to wait to be too near your incisions until after the steri-strips feel off on their on. So it was about two weeks.

 No problem, I see you live in Minnesota too.  I live between Hastings and Red Wing but had surgery at United.   Are you going to any support groups and if so which ones?  

I live in the northern suburbs.  I haven't been to any support groups but am interested in going to some.  Do you attend any?

 I go the one sponsored by the St Paul Surgeon's group.  It is in the hotel beside the Machine Shed resteraunt on the NE corner of the 94 and Radio Drive.  Technically it's address is Lake Elmo  but I think it more in Woodbury.   This is 7pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.   I also am going to a group of people that have had weight lose surgery and meet every saturday morning for coffee.  Alternating between Burnsville Panera and Eagan Caribou.

So, Angie, is your tummy itching? Mine sure did. But in the days after surgery what REALLY itched were those steri strips on my incisions. I ended up with a couple of blisters and itchy rashy redness that took a while to clear up. I still have an itchy tummy. Don't know why.
