WEIGHT GAIN?? IM CONFUSED.

HEY ALL,
A FRIEND OF MINE HAS HAD HER VSG AND THEN SHE SAID AFTER ABOUT 1 YEAR POST OP SHE STARTED TO GAIN WEIGHT. MAYBE IM JUST BEING NIAVE BUT I DIDNT THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE TO GAIN WEIGHT AFTER A PERSON HAD THEIR WLS. HAS ANYONE EXPIERNCED WEIGHT GAIN SO FAR? I LUCKILY HAVE NOT.

It is my understanding that if you do not maitain the same way you lost your weight that it will come back on...especially if she's not following her program "rules" The sleeve is just a restrictive tool, which we have to use to the best of our ability! Congratulations on keeping off your weight!!

Any WLS can be eaten around, and many surgeries also fail on their own right.. But yes, it is very easy to regain after surgery.. it does not solve any head issues, all the VSG does is give good restriction, what you feed yourself counts just as much as it did before.. Good luck and stay vigilant!

WLS is not a magic cure. It still requires you to monitor your input in terms of both quantity and quality. In theory, you could have surgery and never lose weight if you suck down 2000 cal milk shakes a couple times a day.

To lose and maintain, you must make healthy choices - no way around it or you will gain the weight back.
